Description

This source explores Haiti’s state fragility and violence. It argues that after the 2010 earthquake occurred in Haiti, thousands of people lost their lives and 1.3 million others were displaced, and many others were seriously injured. Consequently, people, both locals and foreigners, developed fears that triggered a massive wave of violence as the criminals and the escaped prisoners took advantage of the anarchy. Some crimes like sexual violence increased, especially around the displaced persons camps because people had no permanent or good habitual places.
