The Extreme Events section of the Security Research Hub consolidates research, reports, and additional resources related to natural disaster events, including hurricanes, earthquakes, flooding, and more. By collecting the most recent and relevant reporting, the Extreme Events page aims to provide subject matter experts with easily accessible information to aid in assessing the impact and trends of extreme events in the Latin America and Caribbean region and beyond. Most importantly, the Extreme Events page works to aggregate the most recent reporting and additional resources following a devastating natural disaster event to provide accurate information on impact assessments and the flow of aid to the affected region. Currently, the Extreme Events page is working to collect the most up-to-date information surrounding the 7.2 magnitude earthquake in Haiti on 14 August 2021.
