Description

The World Bank's Board of Directors has approved three projects for Argentina: a $400 million initiative to expand access to clean energy and enhance energy efficiency in vulnerable households and communities, a $300 million loan to improve the quality and coverage of health services, and a $200 million project aimed at reducing flood risks in various cities across the country. These projects are part of Argentina's efforts to improve the living conditions of vulnerable populations, strengthen the public health system, promote climate resilience, and enhance energy efficiency. The clean energy project will benefit remote rural areas and reduce greenhouse gas emissions, while the health services initiative aims to provide equitable and efficient coverage, with a focus on non-communicable diseases and gender-based violence. The flood risk management project will enhance climate resilience in flood-prone urban areas and includes gender-inclusive water governance measures. All three projects are funded through variable-spread loans with a long repayment period.
