The COVID-19 pandemic has significantly impacted poor communities worldwide, causing socio-economic and livelihood challenges. Despite aggressive health policies, many developing countries struggle to implement similar measures. This study aimed to find out the impact of the coronavirus mitigation measures on global poverty. An integrative review found that COVID-19 had significant impacts on both developed and fragile economies, particularly on production networks. Declines in agricultural activities, tourism, trade and industry were also found. The study recommends minimizing the economic crisis of impoverished communities to overcome the negative impacts of the pandemic.
