About Us
About Us
Florida International University’s Undergraduate Research Journal is the result of collaborative effort by the Center for Excellence in Writing, FIU Liberal Studies, FIU Libraries, the Honors College, Humanities Edge, FIU Research and Development, MARC U*STAR, the Undergraduate Research Society, and the FIU Digital Writing Studio.
Launched in Fall 2022,
FIUURJ now accepts submissions from undergraduate students in STEM, social sciences, arts, and humanities who wish to submit their research. This journal is run by and for undergraduate students along with faculty advisers and volunteers. The journal provides opportunities for undergraduates and FIU alumni to become involved with and build experience in editing, digital project creating, peer-reviewing, and peer-advising.
Student Involvement
While
FIUURJ seeks to provide a platform for the academic ambition of undergraduate students, it is those same students who execute the quality assurance and editing of the journal itself. Student editors review the proposals of student writers then collaborate together on drafting and editing full manuscripts through essential feedback and supportive consultations.
Undergraduate Research
FIUURJ publishes research from FIU undergrad and recent alumni members on a
yearly basis with a higher education audience in mind. For many at FIU this will be the first opportunity to publish their research professionally, and we are more than glad to provide a progressive, inclusive, and collaborative platform to do so with the support and resources writers need to succeed.
Our Sponsors
FIUURJ is possible thanks to the continued support of its sponsors: FIU Libraries, The Center for Excellence in Writing, FIU Liberal Studies, Humanities Edge, MARC U*STAR, FIU Honors College, and The Undergraduate Research Society.
