Description / Descripción

In this workshop I briefly outline the theory behind game based teaching and the development of number knowledge in early childhood. After this introduction I have participants help create and play three short number games: one on number writing, one on number coordinates, and one on number sequence. After each game participants will analyse the thinking process in solved in creating and playing number games, and how this can help children to learn these same concepts. Issues of self-regulation, creativity, rule learning, and thinking habits will be explored. In addition to creating and playing number games, participants will watch and analyse children playing number games.
