Description
Hypothyroidism during pregnancy can lead to various adverse maternal and fetal health events, making it a public health problem. Peruvian prenatal care guidelines do not include the TSH test among routine screenings for pregnant women.
This study analyzes the cost-effectiveness of screening all pregnant women for hypothyroidism, compared with not screening or screening only high-risk women. The outcome evaluated was the incidence of preterm birth and miscarriage.
