This collection of videos is an archive of the You-Tube channel “ACWWS Talk Di Tings” is the latest addition to the programs hosted by the Association of Caribbean Women Writers and Scholars. It was founded in March of 2019 by Dr. Donna Aza Weir-Soley, Associate Professor of English at Florida International University, Coordinator of the Mellon Foundation’s HSI Pathways to the Professoriate Fellowship and the Vice President of the ACWWS and two co-hosts, former MA student from Florida International University’s African and African Diaspora Studies Program, Ms. Jasmin Singletary, and Ms. Anaridia Molina, FIU Senior in the department of English, Mellon-HSI Pathways Fellow and Mellon Humanities Edge Fellow. Ms. Singletary has since graduated and moved on.
In the fall semester of 2019, Ms. Molina and Dr. Weir-Soley were joined by a new co-host, Ms. Saniorah Eduoard, MA student in the Department of English at FIU and Mellon-HSI Pathways Fellow. The goal of the channel is to introduce younger scholars (who favor you-tube and social media platforms) to the work of the women scholars and writers from the Caribbean region and its diaspora and to feature Caribbean personalities as well as literary and other cultural events of interest to Caribbean communities locally and globally. The ACWWS welcomes new members and “friends” and ACWWS Talk Di Tings welcomes new subscribers to our channel.
