About Us

Who We Are

The Millennium, formerly known as The Atlantic Millennium, is relaunching for publication in Spring 2025. This journal is created by and for graduate students in the Department of History at FIU, with the goal that all who are involved gain invaluable experience in the publication process.

Scope of Journal: The Millennium will accept submissions that cover a broad range of historical topics across geographic and temporal bounds. While an academic journal, The Millennium’s relaunch seeks to expand the possibilities of what a traditional academic journal might offer graduate students. A range of content will be considered for publication, including but not limited to: traditional research articles, book reviews, podcasts, interviews conducted by FIU History graduate students, and outstanding undergraduate research papers written for senior seminar courses in the History Department by any students majoring or minoring in History. We hope to open our call for submissions to the wider student population at FIU in the future. Topics may come from a range of historical themes and eras, and we are especially excited for creative submissions and those that speak to graduate student life and experiences.

Timeline:The journal will be published on a biennial basis, with the first edition due for publication in Spring 2025.
