Description / Descripción

Never before in the history of education so many people were involved in designing - theoretically and/or practically - new educational environments. But the prevailing designing thinking is fragmented and haphazard. The presentation suggest how to design systematically effective educational environments, and in a way how to think education.

The steps are: Step 1: Choose educational meta-narrative - socialization, acculturation or individuation. Step 2: Create your own narrative - your unique version of the meta-narrative chosen in step 1. Step 3: Describe your "product" - the desired graduate - according to four categories: knowledge, skills, characteristics, positions. Step 4: Implement your meta-narrative, narrative and image of the desired graduate in the six means of education: curriculum, pattern of teaching, method of assessment, organizational structure, educational climate and physical conditions. Step 5: Monitor the coherence and the adaptation of your design. Step 5: Monitor your implementation of your design.

The presentation is based on a book - How to Design Educational Environment in 6 steps: The Guide - that will be published soon in Hebrew, English and Chinese.
