Abstract
The FIU Libraries’ Academic & Intellectual Freedom Committee hosted a discussion on academic freedom and labor in the United States during banned books week 2024. Our panel consisted of FIU faculty members Ronald Cox, Katie Rainwater, and Terrence Peterson. Associate Librarian Christopher Jimenez led a civil discussion exploring labor movements in the U.S., focusing on the impact of academic freedom on the development of labor policy and the building of political power.
