Abstract
Rapid DNA represents a novel forensic technology, wherein the sample analysis process, from DNA extraction to capillary electrophoresis, is fully automated and carried out without the need for human intervention. This technology allows for short-tandem repeat (STR) DNA profiles to be generated in as little as 90 minutes, as opposed to the hours to days of sample preparation and extraction required in casework laboratories.
