Look, is a collection of connected stories, snapshots from the life of Lacey Burns. The story begins on a 1973 college road trip and ends with Lacey in her thirties, starting a new life out west. Throughout, she struggles with her need for attention and control; with addiction to love and alcohol; and with her doomed attempts at intimacy. From story to story, Lacey leaves a wake of damaged relationships, travelling as she does through many men and places: New England, Idaho, the Midwest, New Mexico. However, turning points occur as Lacey discovers there's help for a woman who can't imagine life without alcohol; that she can gain control over her life without resorting to old ways of survival.
