Abstract
Captions and transcripts improve access to audio, video and oral histories, but they take time to create. This workshop will cover how to get started, best practices, and helpful hints for improving your workflow. We'll also go over some current AI software options, give a general overview of the captioning/transcribing process, and talk about theories for responsibility producing captions and transcripts for diverse voices, accents, and languages. This workshop was part of the 2022-2023 Digital Scholar Studio workshop series and was taught by Rebecca Bakker.
