Abstract
Tying into the university’s fiftieth anniversary celebration in 2022 this presentation surveys the history of FIU Library’s Cataloging Department as seen and experience by its three longest-serving members – Gustavo Echeverri, Marilyn Gabriel, and Eduardo Fojo. They will explain how technological advances and changes in cataloging responsibilities, roles, rules and procedures have shaped the department’s personnel and work, and how it’s become the department it is today. Moderator Ximena Valdivia.
