Abstract
The @FIULibraries: Tap, Scan, Read project leverages Near Field Communications (NFC) technology to facilitate the discovery and use of digital resources, services, and wayfinding through posters, cards, and binders. With the tap of an NFC-equipped device, library users can access an ebook, watch a video, or contact a librarian instantly! During this presentation, we will discuss the technical aspects of NFC, current library applications, and reasons to be optimistic about this tech.
