Resumen
En un mundo donde hasta lo más sólido se desvanece en el aire, unos buscan abrir los ojos para entrar y participar en el mundo, mientras otros intentan cerrarlos y poder salir. Leer libros y toda clase de textos es como pararnos ante espejos que nos devuelven imágenes diversas y contradictorias sobre nosotros mismos: lo que fuimos, lo que somos, y lo que podríamos o deberíamos ser y hacer en el mundo. ¿Leemos para saber, sentir y entrar al mundo?, ¿o leemos para no saber, no sentir y mejor salir del mundo? En esta charla exploramos algunas de las narrativas, antiguas o modernas que, desde la imaginación, la indagación, o la indignación, la humanidad ha inventado para resistir, desistir o divertir(se) a su paso por el mundo.
Abstract
In a world where even the most solid melts into air, some seek to open their eyes to enter and participate in the world, while others try to close them and leave the world. Reading books and all kinds of texts is like standing before mirrors that return diverse and contradictory images of ourselves: what we were, what we are, and what we could or should be and do in the world. Do we read to know, feel, and enter the world? Or do we read to avoid knowing and feeling, and leaving the world? In this talk we explore some narratives, ancient or modern, invented by humans out of imagination, investigation, or indignation, to resist, give up, or have fun as it passes through the world. Let's look at three examples.
