El artículo presenta los resultados de la investigación, enfocada en determinar el impacto de la minería ilegal realizada por organizaciones criminales en las regiones Andina y Pacífica de Colombia, desarrollada en el contexto del Centro de Investigación en Guerra Asimétrica de la Escuela de Inteligencia y Contrainteligencia “Brigadier General Ricardo Charry Solano”.

En efecto, la minería ilegal se ha convertido en un fenómeno que tiene la capacidad de afectar la obtención de recursos de los Estados de la región, cuando son usufructuados por manos privadas que no pagan impuestos ni regalías. En el caso colombiano, este fenómeno adquiere una dimensión más amplia porque involucra a grupos armados al margen de la ley que obtienen de la minería ilegal la financiación para sus actividades criminales y terroristas.

Para comprender este problema, el lector encontrará en el presente artículo una descripción del fenómeno de la minería ilegal como resultado de los altos precios de los minerales en el marcado internacional. Posteriormente, se aborda el fenómeno en el contexto del conflicto armado interno de Colombia, en el que la presencia de los grupos armados al margen de la ley converge con la minería ilegal en las regiones Andina y Pacífica, lo que configura una amenaza creciente para la seguridad nacional. Por último, se observan las actividades de minería ilegal de los grupos armados ilegales en las regiones mencionadas.

The article presents the results of the investigation, focused on determining the impact of illegal mining carried out by criminal organizations in the Andean and Pacific regions of Colombia, developed in the context of the Center for Research on Asymmetric Warfare of the School of Intelligence and Counterintelligence " Brigadier General Ricardo Charry Solano ”. In effect, illegal mining has become a phenomenon that has the ability to affect the obtaining of resources from the States of the region, when they are used by private hands that do not pay taxes or royalties. In the Colombian case, this phenomenon acquires a broader dimension because it involves illegal armed groups that obtain financing for their criminal and terrorist activities from illegal mining. To understand this problem, the reader will find in this article a description of the phenomenon of illegal mining as a result of the high prices of minerals in the international market. Subsequently, the phenomenon is addressed in the context of the internal armed conflict in Colombia, in which the presence of illegal armed groups converges with illegal mining in the Andean and Pacific regions, which constitutes a growing threat to the National security. Lastly, the illegal mining activities of illegal armed groups are observed in the aforementioned regions.
