This study offers one of the most comprehensive analyses to date of drone proliferation, regulation, and the related security challenges in Latin America. Drawing on open-source data, field interviews, and institutional reporting, it examines how unmanned aerial systems (UAS) have transformed military operations, civilian industries, and criminal economies across the region. By integrating country-level case studies with a crosscutting analysis of supply chains, export controls, and legal frameworks, the study maps the rapid diffusion of drone technologies and the complex interplay between innovation, governance, and asymmetric threats.
