About This Journal

RONALD E. MCNAIR POSTBACCALAUREATE ACHIEVEMENT PROGRAM

The McNair Journal is the official journal of the Ronald E. McNair Scholars Post-Baccalaureate Achievement Program at Florida International University. The McNair Scholars Program provides undergraduates the unique opportunity to gain research experience under the tutelage of Faculty members at some of the top research institution throughout the country. The research presented in the McNair Journal is the culmination of research conducted by the undergraduate McNair Fellows during the course of the summer. The student’s research is peer reviewed by Faculty members at Florida International University during our Annual McNair Research Symposium. Many of the scholars have presented their work at conferences and symposia throughout the country. The FIU McNair Program faculty, staff, and family members of the students are justifiably proud of each of the McNair Fellows whose research is presented in the McNair Journals. You will find that the research topics cover a variety of academic subjects that the McNair Fellows have pursued. However, the research topics share a common theme in the way they exemplify the discipline, dedication, desire, creativity, and hard work that each McNair Fellow demonstrates in their pursuit of obtaining a Ph.D..
