Learning Profiles and Mediated Learning as a Basis for Differential Learning in the Classroom

Rabbi Feuerstein

Description / Descripción

Differential learning has increasingly become the key issue in educational discourse; yet there are still significant issues being raised. How can students be assessed in a way which makes it possible to differentiate their way of learning? How can one teacher provide individualized attention to 20 - 30 students who learn in different ways, while making the material universally relatable?

There have been many thoughts on how to answer these questions. Presenting the Feuerstein Digital Learning Propensity Device – LPAD - D - an assessment which offers personalized learning profiles for each student, as well as a class profile.

My lecture will detail the nine types of learning profiles, their structure and significance, teaching methods derived for each, and the ability to create an individualized learning plan based upon them. Regarding the second question – I will present the Theory of Mediated Learning developed at the Feuerstein Institute, w hich will address and answer the ability of developing individual learning in a heterogeneous group.
