Original Research:

An original article contributes new information to a given field of study through hypothesis-driven research in the basic sciences and healthcare. Researchers utilize accepted study designs (such as randomized control trials, cohort, case control, or cross-sectional studies) and methodology to generate reproducible results that refute or support the proposed hypothesis. The article includes an abstract, relevant background information, introduction, methods, results, and discussion of the findings. Use the CONSORT checklist for randomized control trials or the STROBE checklist for cohort, case control, and cross sectional studies to evaluate the completeness of your project prior to submitting.
